We'd like to announce our annual Open Day featuring a range of exciting things to see and do! As well welcoming back the fabulous Three Chordettes, fascinating military and vintage vehicles, access to the Museum and a range of stalls and fun activities, we have a special welcome to Mable the Merlin engine, and it's owner Paul Lawrence. The Merlin was used in both the Spitfires and P-51 Mustangs that flew from Martlesham during World War 2, so when Paul fires it up during the day, it will bring that famous roar of the engine back to Martlesham after some eighty years - Come along and enjoy the fun!

MHAS welcomes Martin Hopkinson to the Community Centre on Friday 1st November to share his experiences of his operational deployment on Buccaneers during the Gulf War in what we're sure will be a fascinating insight. Please come along and join us!

Lest we forget.... Another date for the diary as we prepare for our Service of Remembrance at the Barrack Square at Martlesham Heath on Sunday 10th November. As well as many local groups and organisations, we are especially pleased to announce that we will be joined by the United States Air Forces in Europe Band. Please join us on this special occasion.

MHAS will be welcoming Geoffrey Kay to the Community Centre on Friday 6th December for his talk on the arrival and impact of the American Air Force to East Anglia in World War 2 as the "friendly invasion". Please come along and join us!

MHAS is pleased to welcome Chris Turland to the Community Centre on Friday 3rd January to talk about various aspects of the long association of aviation with Ipswich. Please come along and join us!

MHAS will be welcoming John Bridges to the Community Centre on Friday 7th February to talk about the history and stories behind the attacks on Suffolk & Norfolk during World War 2 by the German V1 "Doodlebug" and V2 Rockets. Please come along and join us for what will be a fascinating insight into these dreaded weapons!
