July will see us welcome Graham Murchie to the Community Centre talk about the history & development of radar at Bawdsey Manor - the events, people and technologies which led to it becoming the first operational radar centre during World War 2 and its continued role in the following years. Please come along and enjoy what promises to be a fascinating talk about this iconic local landmark.

In place of our usual monthly talk, August sees a Society visit to the "Great War Huts" - a fantastic and interesting First World War Visitor Centre providing an insight into how soldiers lived and worked via the restoration and preservation of a number of original First World War Barrack Huts giving access to original artefacts and hands-on exhibits as well as talks by subject matter experts. The site includes a large trench system, accurately recreated to provide a true experience of the conditions.
