Meetings are held in the Community Hall, Felixstowe Road, Martlesham Heath. IP12 4PB on the first Friday of each month.

Meetings start at 7.30pm with a tea/coffee break at half time.

Admission £3 for members and £5 for non-members. Pay at the door

  • James Blackwood - "RAF Photo Reconnaissance in World Wars 2"

    Friday 3rd July 2026

    Our next talk see James Blackwood presenting a key aspect of World War 2 military aviation history. Namely the key role and contribution, often at great danger to the pilots and crew, of the RAF Photo Reconnaissance aircraft. This was a key factor in many of the key and decisive military strategies and tactics as part of the overall intelligence picture throughout the wartime period. We welcome James for what will be a fascinating talk. Please come along and join us!

  • Harry Raffal - "Air Power and the Evacuation of Dunkirk"

    As we move into Autumn, we're pleased to announce a very special evening's presentation by Harry Raffal, Historian at the RAF Museum in London, author and expert, who will be bringing us a detailed and undoubtedly interesting perspective on the air war over the beaches of Dunkirk during the evacuation in 1940. This will be a chance to enjoy what will be a rare and special opportunity to hear a presentation from a renowned expert on the subject and author of many associated books, so keep the diary free!

  • Phill O'Dell - "The Spirit of Innovation - the story of breaking the World Electric Speed Record"

    November sees us welcome Phill O'Dell, former Rolls-Royce Chief Test Pilot, to give us this years Fred Yule Memorial Lecture on what will undoubtedly be a fascinating talk on his long and varied career in the military and commercially, and his role in the story of the project to design and deliver the pioneering all-electric aircraft, the "Spirit of Innovation". With our thanks to Phill for taking the time to come and see us, come along and enjoy what promises to be a very special and entertaining evening.
